School and Nursery places
Should you require refuge provision our children’s team will liaise with, and help you arrange school and nursery places for your children.
During all school holidays the Pathway Project’s children’s team arrange 2 outings per week for refuge residing women and their children to participate in. This gives mum’s and their children the opportunity to experience outings to a variety of venues and events.
The benefits of providing such opportunities include raised self esteem, relationship building between siblings and mothers, and a reduction in behavioural problems due to boredom and lack of appropriate opportunities.
For women taking refuge with the Pathway Project we have Ofsted approved and registered crèche facilities along with a full time children’s worker to look after children for when women need to attend all professional meetings. Children are looked after by qualified, CRB checked staff. We also have a child protection policy in place.
After School Clubs
Pathway Project also hold after school clubs in our crèche with appropriate therapeutic play sessions for children to engage in.
One to One
Our qualified children’s team also offer the service of one to one sessions as some children are deeply traumatised from the domestic abuse they have witnessed and they benefit greatly from this.
In addition to our children’s services we also run parenting groups and one to one sessions. This gives mum’s help, support and strategies on how to cope at this difficult time.
Is an activity based service working with children dealing with a number of issues including domestic abuse, learning difficulties, autism, parental separation and problems with school.
